Kammechor Manila Wins in the 1st Leonardo da Vinci International Choral Festival in Florence, Italy

Another choral group has brought pride for the country. Kammerchor Manila has been declared the Grand Prix Winner in the 1st Leonardo da Vinci International Choral Festival in Florence, Italy last July 14, 2017. After competing against 11 choirs from Europe, Asia, and Australia, the group has emerged victorious during the Grand Prix Round, garnering a score of 94.30 points.


The group also received gold diplomas and was declared as category winners of three categories namely, the Mixed Choir Category (96.25 points), Modern and Contemporary Music Category (97.81 points), and Popular, Folk, Gospel, Barbershop, Jazz and Modern Ensembles Category (96.56 points). They also placed second in the Sacred Music Category (95.94 points) where they also received a gold diploma.


Aside from these, the group also received these special awards: Best Male Soloist for tenor Reyjhon Regis for the song Let it Be and the Audience Special Prize. Prior to the competition in Florence, the group also competed in the 8th Musica Eterna Roma in Rome, Italy last July 5-9, 2017. They were a finalist in the Grand Prix Round and was declared the category winner of the Mixed Choir Category, which was the most weighted category of the said competition. They also received gold diplomas in the Mixed Choirs Category, Gospel and Spiritual Category, and the Musica Sacra Category.
